What did you hear from God during Lent, Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday?
It is these things that hold us steady during times of deep unrest and uncertainty.
Friends! Followers of Jesus believe that Christ came, died and was raised from the dead. We believe that He overcame all oppression, violence, injustice and brokenness to speak, teach and embody the redemption, liberation and renewal of all creation. Hallelujah and amen!
What does that look like in 2025?
There were literally millions of sermons preached, podcasts uploaded and articles written during the 46 days from Lent to Easter. So what did you hear God say? What came to you in the art, music, images, books and silence?
I heard Him speak to someone I love deeply and say, "I will take care of you and I will take care of it."
I got to hear Him through Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac at Riverside Church and engage again with the "Christ in the Rubble".
I met Him in the Daniel Fast and contemplations about how to live in the midst of empire as a servant and witness of a different King.
And, I got to experience Him in the oldest building in Elmhurst, Queens painting flowers on repurposed plywood, sitting with high school students, and enjoying Pani Puri.
