Jesus said, “whatever you do to the least of these, you did to me” in Matthew 25:31-46 as supposed followers of Jesus stood aghast at the time of judgement when Jesus separated His people from those who chose to go their own way – thee sheep from the goats. What was an abstract concept to those gathered Jesus, made crystal clear and it is incumbent on us to be clear as well.

The least of these are in the streets of Los Angeles and detention centers and courthouses downtown. The least of these are struggling to pay their rent and cover healthcare, clothe themselves and feed their children. The least of these are wondering if their benefits are going to disappear when the Big, Beautiful Bill passes the Senate. The least of these are dying in Gaza, Congo, Sudan, Haiti and suffering as hostages and prisoners under unjust laws, regimes, and policies nearby and worldwide. So the question is – what will we do?
